| Whee my life has been too boring to document lately. Holidays are officially over. Two months of glorious AWESOME have passed and now to deal with four months of BLAH. I can't remember much from the holidays. Went out and had Thai. Went to a photography exhibition.. and then had Korean lol. Food intake didn't get any more exotic than that. Caught a fair share of movies: The Dark Knight, Hancock, Get Smart etc. etc. (but not Kung Fu Panda D: I'll watch it eventually. Oh, missed Mongol too). Work! Lots of that. Horrible hours (7am start) but at least I got a job. Might continue part-time throughout the semester if they're short on people. Otherwise, days without classes are for sleeping. 8.30am & 9am starts. Argh. Relatives came down from the U.S. ~ Really bad timing though, as they're only here for the week, and yet it's the week I'm no longer free. After class today I caught up with them and my brother as they left Crown. Went to Chinatown, mucked about and then went and ate at Mekong. They got tired, so we went back to Crown and then went home. It's Tuesday, which obviously meant that we had to go eat at Mary Hoa, no King Whale, ah whatever that upstairs restaurant is called now. It was as loud as ever - worse, because this time we sat right next to the speakers at the front. -____- That's about it. They're driving up to Sydney on Fridayish, but first we'll have to help give them a crash course in road rules down under. OH WAIT. My sister and Tim came along to dinner as well. I played with his iPhone alot. Then the American cousin talked about theirs and compared prices lol the difference was depressing. | | |
| Happy Easter! Try to contribute to the Good Friday Appeal, yes? I started easter break early when my Tuesday classes got cut short - I was in 2D Animation when the fire alarm went off. We all left sluggishly, half of us grabbing our stuff because come on - it took, what? 3 seconds to do so? - and milled about outside. Turns out there was a real fire! =D Wow. REAL fire. It wasn't a drill, we were in potential danger! I'd hate to be one of the people who had classes on the 6th floor, what with the elevators off limits in a fire emergency. I went to grab lunch with San (new friend =O) in this strange retro-looking place on the corner (decked out in stuffed roosters and antique furniture - apparently the interior was decorated with old radios last year) before our next class. Turns out the whole design building got shut down though, while we were eating, until 6pm. We got to leave early and start break (I haven't any classes on Wednesday) but that would've sucked for those who left their things inside. Not many plans for the break except meeting up with friends, driving practice and the comedy festival (Arj Barker & Mark Watson). And you know, maybe uni work. | | |
| Aside from reinstating my online existence, I've nothing interesting to write. D:
I just thought of this book title randomly: Came back to show you I could fly by Robin Klein. It's always been a favourite, title-wise, even if I didn't much care for the content. Drug-abuse, broken cups, horse-racing, ...jailbait? Lol not really, just a hormonal boy desiring the attention of a girl older and far more than he could handle. That's about all I remember, I only read it because I'd read other RK books.
Where can I go from here? ...More morbid thoughts? I just heard that this old Chinese performer died recently from lung cancer or something similar. Can't remember what she's actually starred in, but she succeeded as an entertainer in that, well, I do remember her being everywhere, comedy-sitcom-related. She had Dame Edna-looks, only you know, more natural. But seriously, tacky glasses and everything.
...Or I could've gone on to ramble about other writings. We've got an assignment now exploring communication and er something along the lines of 'exploring the visual field on which we communicate.' I'm comforted to know I'm not the only one who feels like they've missed the entire introduction to this part of the unit, as we sit in class collectively folding paper. I do know that I'm meant to select haikus as this week's assignment, and create mind maps and illustrations for the ones I've chosen. He gave us a list of potentials to choose from. ;D Some were FUNNY and utter inanities, which posed the dilemma/challenge of sticking your hand in and trying to pull out profound meaning from what were essentially randomly compiled words. I remember three that were, and weren't, entirely meaningless:
Unencouraging sign - the fish store has closed.
Those birds sitting out there on the fence - They're all going to die.
The little worm lowers itself from the roof By a self shat thread.
- Jack Kerouac
I can't decide whether to be impressed or... well I'll just be impressed for now. ;D Haikus are awesome:
Haikus are easy But sometimes they don't make sense Refrigerator

| Deleted the two measly entries from last year. Had to keep that line as the title though as it still makes me smile. Another year, another step forward. Apparently some of you guys are going interstate for your studies? Boo. I'll resurrect this blog then to remind you of my existence. <3 Got Multimedia Design @ Swinny, where the guys outnumbered the girls at enrolment like, 6 to 1. They were old too - transferring from TAFE and other degrees. I think four of them finished VCE in '05? Well, whatever. With tertiary education settled, I guess a job and more driving lessons are next. Oh, I'll catch up to you guys eventually. All I can remember of the last week: - Movie-wise, I Am Legend and Cloverfield: wtf? They weren't very satisfying to watch. D: - Just finished Coffee Prince too, a Korean drama. Um, I liked some of the music. Hated some of the acting. YEH was perfectly cast though - easily passing for a guy, believable in all her internal gender-conflicts. - Australian Open: I'm such a sucker for lazing about and watching others exert themselves. Someone play tennis with me. - Happy Birthday Jane. I was thinking of you, but hadn't the phone credit to let you know. <3 - Happy Birthday Jenny. As above. <3 - R.I.P Heath Ledger. I am in shock. - Started a Terry Pratchett collection. - Randomly switched banks. "Which bank?" <- Left that one. I now want a bookcase where the shelves are at a 45 degree angle, like diamond-shaped pigeon holes. Picture a complete gridwork that has been tilted before it then covers the entire wall. I just saw a bit of Moonlight. A television series, I think? It had Logan (Jason Dohring) from Veronica Mars in it, and the female actress from A Knight's Tale (again, Heath Ledger D: ). Anyway, there it was. And the effect was just.. wow. Orderly yet haphazard. I wannnnt.

'Twas my first ever entry. I would've deleted it completely, otherwise. | | |
